1. John Anderson, English Mill, St Fergus, Banffshire/Aberdeenshire.

1.1. James Anderson (1796-1882) was the son of John Anderson, St Fergus. He was minister of St Fergus and became a Free Church minister. He married Margaret Gavin. She was the sister of Richard Gavin, a Free Church minister.

1.1.1. Margaret Anderson (1828-1903) was the daughter of James Anderson, minister. She married Donald McGillivray, a Free Church minister. His father, Donald McGillivray, was minister of Kilmallie, Argyll: FES, Vol.4, p.135; his brother, Robert McGillivray, was a Free Church minister; and his sister, Janet McGillivray, married Thomas Davidson , who became a Free Church minister.

1.1.2. Frances Anderson (1840-1919) was the daughter of James Anderson, minister. She married John Brown Reid, a Free Church minister.

1.1.3. Agnes Jane Anderson (1841-1918) was the daughter of James Anderson, minister. She married Sylvester Mackie McClelland, minister of Laygate Church, South Shields, County Durham England .
