1.1. John Sutherland (d.1769) was the son of Arthur Sutherland, Edderton. He was minister of Tain, Ross and Cromarty: FES, Vol.7, p.72. He married, as his second wife, Ann Ross, daughter of Donald Ross, minister of Fearn, Ross and Cromarty: FES, Vol.7, p.56.
1.1.1. Elizabeth Sutherland (1735-1812) was the daughter of John Sutherland, Tain. She married John Sutherland, minister of Dornoch, Sutherland: FES, Vol.7, p.84.
1.1.2. William Sutherland (1738) was the son of John Sutherland, Tain. He was minister of Wick, Caithness: FES, Vol.7, p.142.
1.1.2.1. Christian Sutherland (1775-1856) was the daughter of William Sutherland. Wick. She married William Mackintosh, minister of Thurso, Caithness: FES, Vol.7, p.137.
