The Lifter Presbytery

The “Lifter” Presbytery

For the sake of completeness, we mention here the “Lifter” Presbytery or the Associate Presbytery of Falkirk.

The story of this Presbytery has been told by Hugh Watt in his article: Scottish Church History Society, David Smyton and the lifters.

The ministers who belonged to this body were all, at one time or another, associated with other Scottish Presbyterian bodies and references to them are given in the General Index of Scottish Presbyterian Ministers.
